I’ve hunted down 10 cottagecore inspired decor pieces at IKEA for less than $10 each! I’ve put them all here in one place to help you in your cottagecore design journey!

What is the Cottagecore Design Style?

Cottagecore is an infusion of traditional, farmhouse, english cottage, and eclectic interior design. We see lots of vintage dishes, candlesticks, baskets, pitchers full of flowers, plates as wall decor, stone, wood tones, and table linens being used for the everyday life. We see muted colors in cottagecore and certainly wallpaper. Lots of rustic vintage elements and lots of nature being brought indoors.

It’s all about making the home a cozy space with vintage and cottage style elements. It’s warm, inviting, with a lived in and collected look. The atmosphere moves you to curl up with a good book or bake up something in the kitchen and stay home all day. Is it any surprise this trend arose during a national stay-at-home order in the year that was 2020?

Cottagecore Design Style at IKEA

I have always been drawn to a historically inspired cottage/farmhouse style. Over the years I’ve collected many beautiful items that fit my vision from many places – Including IKEA!

IKEA is famous for having both trendy and classic home Interiors at some incredibly affordable prices! I took a trip to ikea recently and found some really fun cottage style treasures. I realized they were all under $10 so I thought I would round them up in a post so you too can treat yourself to a few IKEA cottagecore inspired finds for under $10 each!

10 Cottagecore Finds at IKEA for Under $10

1. SOCKERÄRT

IKEA SOCKERÄRT pitcher, vintage tin funnels, and dried eucalyptus hanging from a shelf in a cottagecore style bathroom

This beautiful little pitcher is one of my very favorite IKEA cottagecore finds for under $10! It has beautiful detailing showing the slightest bit of wear around the rim of the pitcher to give it a vintage feel. It’s also enamel, so it’s not breakable. Which in a household full of little boys is a huge plus for me!

I originally bought it for my son’s vintage play kitchen, but I ended up stealing it for decor! I have these shelves in my bathroom and something just wasn’t right about the way they were styled. When I realized they needed a pop of white, hanging this pitcher there was the perfect solution!

2. GURLI

IKEA EKTORP couch and IKEA GURLI pillow cover mixed with thrifted decor for a cottgecore style couch area

I seriously love these creamy white pillow covers with so much of my heart! I especially love these pillow covers in white because they are not a harsh white, but a beautiful, creamy white. They also come in more colors, many of which are muted tones which is perfect for cottagecore. They have a wonderful canvas feel to them that is very hard to see online. Online they look rather flat, but in person they really do have good texture that gives them depth.

My absolute favorite thing about these pillow covers is that they are $3.99 each! Is that not insane?! I’m truly very impressed with the quality and I love the simple look of them. Plus, at $3.99 a pop, I don’t need to stress if one of them gets stained by my wild blackberry handed children. Under $5 is an easy replacement!

3. BYHOLMA

Nothing feels more cottagecore to me than using baskets abundantly in my home! My favorite thing about these wicker baskets from IKEA is their lovely weathered tone. They look aged and remind me of french vintage baskets I’ve seen in antique stores. They are so neutral with no red tones at all, so they very easily blend into any space and add great texture.

I’m always a proponent of buying baskets second hand because they are abundant at thrift store for just a few dollars. However, sometimes you need matching baskets to organize a space and keep things streamline. At 9.99 a basket these are a really affordable and beautiful option!

4. KUNGSFORS

collected cottage kitchen shelving filled with practical and vintage kitchen tools, all lit by candlelight

These sweet little mesh bags hang from a peg rack in my kitchen and I often find them filled with oranges, apples, or onions. I love these bags and the vintage touch they add to my space. Anytime you take your produce out of the container or bag they came in and place them in a bowl or a bag like this one, you create that gathered cottage look. Just as if this produce had been picked up at the village market or was freshly gathered from the garden – and maybe it was!

These cottagecore feeling bags from IKEA are an absolute steal at $5.99 for a set of two! They would also be beautiful in a bathroom filled with bath toys or a child’s bedroom filled with blocks. So many possibilities!

5. HILDEGUN

You are going to love the price of these beautiful little tea towels! Are you ready?!

$0.79! The blue ticking stripe gives them the perfect vintage vibe and they almost have a crinkly linen feel to them!

These tea towels are thin and not at all a thick which makes them perfect for covering my ferments on the counter. Like most IKEA tea towels they have a loop at the narrow end, making them simple to hang from a peg rack and create beautiful texture in your cottagecore kitchen. At $0.79 each, grab a whole stack of them and never run out of clean tea towels!

6. FEJKA

Faux potted plants and stems are definitely a steal at IKEA. This particular plant I linked here (not pictured) absolutely spoke cottagecore style to me. It’s long, drippy, established vine looks so cozy and nestled. Indoor foliage is absolutely essential to creating a cottagecore vibe in your home.

one faux ikea plant and two real plants

The faux ikea plant pictured here I have had for over 6 years now and I can attest to the quality and longevity of ikeas faux plants! It’s on the left hand side of the photo inside of basket I found on the side of the road. Read all about how I style my thrifted decor in my 3 part series found HERE.

Thrift a beautiful crock for your cottagecore IKEA plant or check out IKEA’S selection too! They have lots of beautiful options, including hanging planters which have total cottagecore vibes!

7. GODTAGBAR

While these little ceramic candleholders are not something I personally own, I certainly plan to soon! They are so sweet and whimsical. These speak child’s room to me and I can also see them looking very sweet in a bathroom next to some greenery.

These are only $4.99 each which is honestly how much I’ve paid for brass candlstick holders at thrift stores on occasion. One thing I like about these white candlestick holders as opposed to the brass is that the freshness of the white would contrast so beautifully against the yellow of a beeswax candle. I love using natural beeswax for my candles when I can, but I’m not a huge fan of the yellow and brass together. The white and yellow would look so fresh and lovely!

Grab a few of these pretty little candlestick holders for your cottagecore style home the next time you’re at IKEA!

8. FJADRAR

IKEA FJADRAR feather pillow insert sitting on a bed with shadowy backround

IKEA feather throw pillow inserts are hands-down one of the best decor steals you will ever find at IKEA. They are only $6 for a 20×20 insert and I have never seen them that cheap anyplace else.

They fluff up into a beautiful, full looking pillow and create such a cozy cottagecore atmosphere in my spaces. Just as with the candlestick holder above, I can find down pillow inserts at thrift stores but often for only a dollar or two less than the IKEA down pillow insert. These down filled inserts from IKEA are definitely a fantastic deal!

9. ALVINE SPETS

These cottagecore feeling curtains from IKEA are not something I own personally, but they are very reminiscent of the DIY curtains that I made out of a vintage bedskirt for my cottagecore home. ( Pictured below) Find the tutorial for my easy, no-sew vintage curtains HERE.

white vintage curtain with crochet edging and vintage picture frame in the backround

My DIY curtains are white and have a lace edge just like these curtains at IKEA. The IKEA curtains are very lightweight and they will only diffuse light, not block light. They would be ideal for a curtain that you plan on being purely decorative or to layer underneath a more heavyweight curtain to add some lightness to the look. These lace curtains are $9.99 for a set of two panels.

10. SALLSKAPLIG

These vintage inspired wine glasses from IKEA are just so lovely and romantic. Vintage wine glasses are something I have been keeping an eye out for at thrift stores for a while now, but with no luck. Knowing now that i can easily grab these vintage inspired wine glasses at IKEA for $9.99 for a set of 4, I might have to do just that!

The IKEA wine glasses have the same style as crystal wine glasses and would look so elegant on my dinner table. I can just see them now filled with an effervescent wine, tiny bubbles continually floating to the surface, casting a warm glow on the dinner table through their crystal cut.

A dimly lit table scape with candles and white dishes, corn on the cob piled high, and a wine glass filled with shimmering rose colored liquid

This glass you see in the photo is not the SALLSKAPIG, but can you imagine how much more beautiful this scene would be with the vintage inspired crystal style wine glass from IKEA!

I sincerely hope you enjoyed my 10 IKEA cottagecore steals under $10 helpful!
