This 10 minute breakfast cobbler is hands down one of my children’s very favorite morning meals! We all love it because it’s such a delicious way to start the day, but I love it most of all because it’s so. dang. easy! If you are using frozen fruit or berries, it’s a dump and stir dish!
I use this recipe with frozen or fresh fruit, so it’s great year round! I find frozen to be fastest because you just dump it the pan and go. No peeling, chopping…nothing!
However, while I love the simplicity of frozen fruit, this is a great recipe to have in your back pocket when fresh fruit is in season. Use apples, peaches, pears, plumbs, berries or whatever is in abundance near you.
I’ve used combinations of fruits as well to bulk up the recipe if I just have a little of a few different fruits! This recipe is extremely flexible. In fact, I think of it as more of a formula than a recipe.
Make 10 Minute Breakfast Cobbler a Complete Meal
While there is protein found in the almond flour of this recipe, I like to bulk up the protein a little bit more if I can. I do have a household of growing boys after all. And I’m often growing one myself!
My simple protein of choice is to pair with this cobbler is a nitrate and msg free frozen breakfast sausage. I just throw them in a dry cast iron skillet and heat them up while I’m getting the breakfast cobbler going.
Other proteins that pair well with this dish are bacon, of course! Fried eggs can be a super simple, no-brainer addition. Or the simplest protein of all- a tall glass of milk.
Serve Breakfast Cobbler as Dessert
Though breakfast is in the name, this dish can certainly serve as a healthy dessert as well!
Make it a peach cobbler and serve it a’ la mode with rich vanilla ice cream.
If apple cobbler is on the menu try it with a caramel or Dulce de Leche falvored ice cream.
Raspberry or Strawberry cobbler could be served with a chocolate sauce or a chocolate ice cream.
Of course, a simple whipped cream will always suffice as well. Add cinnamon and sweeten with maple syrup to make your whipped cream an extra special dessert topping!

How to Make 10 Minute Breakfast Cobbler
Start by heating your butter in the skillet over medium heat.
Now at this point decide whether you are using frozen or fresh fruit.
If using frozen fruit:
You may want to run your frozen fruit under warm water for a minute or so to break up any clumps that got frozen together. This also speeds up the cooking process and removes any ice crystals.
Place your frozen fruit in a colander and run under hot tap water for a minute or so. Then dump in the skillet with the melted butter.
If using fresh fruit:
Wash and slice your fruit. No peeling is necessary, unless that is your preference. If you are using fresh berries, simply dump them in the skillet with the melted butter.
Once your fruit has cooked down for a few minutes in the skillet, drizzle in your molasses and vanilla.
Continue to cook a few minutes over medium until your fruit is soft and your liquids have thickened slightly to a syrupy consistency.
While your fruit is cooking, mix up the topping. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the almond flour, sweetener, salt, and cinnamon.
Now, turn off the heat under your skillet and sprinkle your topping over the cooked fruit and syrupy liquid.
Mix it all together until the fruit is completely coated in the topping.
Serve immediately with a splash of cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Serve a’ la mode for a dessert cobbler.
